Get ready for the 7th Applied Synthetic Biology in Europe (ASBE7) conference, coming to Brno, Czech Republic, on 6-8 November 2024!.

Register before 21 July and save up to €90 on your delegate pass! Plus, share your innovative research and ideas with our global community by submitting an abstract. We welcome abstracts from all researchers, from PhD students to faculty members. There are bursaries available to support students and early-career researchers (see below).

The topics for abstract submission (and some example research areas) are below:
  • Sustainable agriculture and food security: crop and plant synthetic biology, engineering soil bacteria and the rhizosphere, synthetic biology for artificial meat or engineered foods.
  • New technologies for better health and environment: synthetic biology for pharmaceutical development and manufacture, mammalian synthetic biology for health, engineering bioremediation approaches.
  • Responsible production and consumption, sustainable energy: synthetic biology for bioenergy, biofuels, platform chemicals and bioplastics / biomaterials.
  • Engineered proteins and cell-free systems: enzyme engineering, cell-free synthetic biology, protein-based materials.
  • Synthetic biology tools and future directions: DNA and protein modification technologies, sensing and regulation, programming biological systems.
These research areas are just examples - please get in touch if you don’t know if your research will fit into one of the topics!

This meeting offers funding opportunities for students and early-career researchers to attend and take part in the conference. Requirements:
  • be a member of a FEMS Member Society or be recommended by such a member
