Abstract guidelines and instructions

Present your research and be part of the scientific program!

The Microbial Stress conference invites participants to submit abstracts for the following forms of scientific presentations:

  • Oral presentation: 20 min time slot (max. 15 min presentation + 5 min discussion).
  • Poster presentation: The recommended poster size is A0 (33.1″ x 46.8″). Pins will be provided to fix the posters and your poster number will be listed in the program and displayed on the poster board. Presenters are requested to print and bring their posters along them as there will be no poster printing service provided by the conference organizers. The author should be at the poster during the respective poster session to answer questions from attendees.

DEADLINE FOR POSTER PRESENTATION: 30 June 2023 31 August 2023

    TOPICS

The Microbial Stress meeting invites participants from academia and industry to submit abstracts describing original research in one of the conference scientific topics:
    1. Molecular mechanisms of stress
    2. Microbial stress in bioproduction systems
    3. Challenges to microbial life in the natural environment: adaptation and evolution
    4. Plant microbe interactions and soil microorganisms
    5. Stresses associated with human-microbe interactions
    6. Other topics associated to microbial stress response

    GUIDELINES OF SUBMISSION:

Please use the abstract form to prepare your submission:

    1. Complete the registration form.
    2. Follow the link to the abstract submission form.
    3. Login by using the username and password employed at the registration form.
    4. Follow the instructions and submit your abstract.
    5. Complete the registration form and pay the registration fees.

The abstract title should be less than 160 characters and must not be written in capital letters. Non-standard abbreviations should be avoided in titles, but may be used in the text if they are defined at first usage. Standard abbreviations and SI units must be used. Please ensure that your abstract does not include tables, charts, or figures.

The Scientific Committee will select the type of contribution (short oral presentation or poster presentation) based on the review of abstracts. Authors will receive abstract acceptance notifications by 21 July 2023.

Abstracts will be published in the book of abstracts in the Open Access Platform reposiTUm.

Important Submitting an abstract for presentation does not constitute registration for the conference. Abstract presenters must register to attend the conference by following the instructions for registration. The Scientific Committee will evaluate the abstract only if the registration fees have been paid by the author.

    F.A.Q

You can submit one abstract. If you need to edit the abstract you already submitted, modifications will not be accepted after the abstract submission deadline.

The corresponding author will receive an e-mail confirming the successful submission of the abstract. All abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee and you will be notified about acceptance of your abstract by email.

Abstracts should be checked for accuracy prior to submission. Once the abstract has been submitted, changes, corrections or rewording will be possible until the abstract deadline. After this date changes will not be possible. The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission. Abstract submission does not constitute registration for the conference. Abstract presenters must register to attend the conference by following the instructions for registration.

Posters must be brought to the meeting by the presenting author and should not be mailed in advance. The required dimensions are 84 cm (width) by 120 cm (height) corresponding to an A0 format.
