REGISTRATION AND ABSTRACT SUBMISSION ARE OPEN!

The on-line meeting on 20 March 2024 will again be a joint event with our partner Federation, AFOB (the Asian Federation of Biotechnology), to explore the range of new biobased materials that are becoming available. Sessions will focus on enzymes required for their synthesis or modification; their applications; and biodegradability. A fourth session will review the impact of plastics on the environment. Register for the meeting and:
  • submit your abstract for an invited talk to show your scientific results
  • present your company and your products
  • attend the presentations to get to know the latest research
  • take part in the discussions
  • meet other scientists who specialise in plastics
The registration fee is only 28 euros.

Recombinant Protein Production meeting
CALL FOR PAPERS!
The 11th Recombinant Protein Production Conference (RPP11), organised by the EFB Microbial Biotechnology Division, was held on 17-19 October 2023 in Girona, Catalonia. The meeting, attended by 180 scientists from 21 countries (and 3 continents), was focused on current bottlenecks and innovative solutions in recombinant protein production across different cell factories, from microbial to higher eukaryotic RPP platforms. Topics included: host physiology under RPP conditions, cell engineering for RPP, RPP and the SDGs, and recombinant protein smart biomanufacturing (RPP4.0).
We thank attendees, sponsors and exhibitors for participating and contributing to this successful meeting.
A call for submission of research and review articles for a special issue in the New Biotechnology journal, dedicated to the RPP11 conference, will soon be announced on the journal's website. Stay tuned!

I am very honored to take the Editor-in-Chief role for New Biotechnology starting Jan. 1, 2024. I sincerely thank Dr. Mike Taussig and Claudia Fonseca for their dedication and service to the New Biotechnology journal for many years. In addition, I thank all associate editors and editorial board members for their excellent work in making this journal a platform for discussion of high-quality research and opinions. Obviously, the journal staff members have also helped achieve the current success. I will do my best to continue to provide an excellent platform for scientific discussions and opinion sharing. In particular, I will focus on making the journal reach out to a broader community, including the European Federation of Biotechnology, the Asian Federation of Biotechnology, the United States biotechnology community, and biotechnology communities in other continents. Together, we can further improve New Biotechnology although Mike and Claudia set a high standard.
