The European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB) and the Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB) would like to invite you to participate in an online conference: Plastics: challenges and biotechnological solutions
The event will be held on 20 March 2024 and will explore the range of new biobased materials that are becoming available, with a special focus on:
- New biobased plastics
- Enzyme engineering for plastic synthesis and biodegradation
- Progress in plastic recycling
- Environmental impact of discarded plastics
Register for the meeting and:
- submit your abstract for an invited talk to show your scientific results (abstract submission open until 25 February 2024)
- present your company and your products
- attend the presentations to get to know the latest research
- take part in the discussions
- meet other scientists specialized in plastics
The registration fee is only 28 euros.

REGISTRATION STILL OPEN!
Registration is open for the Bacterial Electron Transfer Meeting on 6-8 March, 2024 in Alicante, Spain.
The conference will include presentations around different topics, including bioenergetics, metabolism, stress adaptation, respiration of human microbiota, antibiotic resistance, host-pathogens relationship and cell biology aspects.

The European Congress on Biotechnology 2024 will be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, at the De Doelen International Congress Center, from 30 June to 3 July 2024. The theme for the 2024 Congress will be “Grand Challenges for Biotechnology: Health; Food Security; and Global Warming”.

The 7th Applied Synthetic Biology in Europe (ASBE7) is organised by the EFB Bioengineering and Bioprocessing Division and the EFB Microbial Biotechnology Division. The event will be held on 6-8 November 2024 in Brno, Czech Republic.
Following the success of previous meetings in this series, ASBE7 will explore the wealth of applied synthetic biology research and how it is contributing to progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The meeting will bring together key partners from academia, industry and the third sector interested in using synthetic biology, engineering biology and applied microbiology to address global challenges.
Registration and abstract submission will open in March.

Connecting leading bioeconomy regions in Europe to meet the increasing demands for biobased materials and scalable process technologies thereof, with a focus on biocatalysis as enabler is the core of the Biocat4Value Biocatalysis Conference.
The Biocat4Value event is expected to draw participants from market leaders in biocatalysis, SMEs, selected academic experts, and bioeconomy regions across Europe. We highly welcome cutting-edge start-ups to present their technologies and innovations to cross-fertilize their networks!
