PYFF9 – 9th Conference on Physiology of Yeasts and Filamentous Fungi

We are delighted to announce that the 9th Conference on Physiology of Yeasts and Filamentous Fungi (PYFF9) will be held in Valencia, Spain, from 8–11 September 2026.

Since its first edition in 2001 in Copenhagen, the PYFF series has become a premier international event bringing together researchers and innovators from academia and industry to explore the physiology, metabolism, and genetics of yeasts and filamentous fungi, along with their biotechnological applications.

A leading forum for fungal biotechnology
This edition is hosted by the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA-CSIC), offering participants the chance to engage with the dynamic scientific community of Valencia, a city with a strong tradition in food science and biotechnology.

Main topics
PYFF9 will feature sessions covering a wide range of themes, including:

  • Fungal physiology, metabolism, and adaptation
  • Pathogenesis and resistance mechanisms
  • Synthetic and systems biology
  • Fermentation and food applications
  • Engineering cell factories for sustainable production
  • Fungi in the bioeconomy and circular economy
  • Advances in AI, data science, and fungal biotechnology

Keynote speakers
An impressive lineup of international experts will share their latest research, including:

  • Joseph Schacherer, University of Strasbourg, France
  • Antonio Di Pietro, University of Cordoba, Spain

Call for abstracts
Researchers are invited to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations addressing the conference topics.

Whether your research focuses on molecular mechanisms, fermentation innovation, or AI integration in fungal biotechnology, PYFF9 offers an exceptional opportunity to share your findings and collaborate with leaders in the field.
