ECB2026: Abstract submission open until 19 April – final slots available

Abstract submission for the 20th European Congress on Biotechnology (ECB2026) remains open until 19 April, with final slots still available for invited talks. Participants can also apply for flash poster and poster presentations. Early registration rates are still available for a limited time.

As the longest-running biotechnology congress in Europe, ECB2026 marks its 20th edition, bringing together the international biotechnology community to share advances across the field. This edition is organized in partnership with the Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB) and VIB, further strengthening global collaboration.

The congress will feature the following plenary speakers:

• Claus Crone Fuglsang – Novonesis, Denmark
     
• Hyung Joon Cha – Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Republic of Korea

In addition, leading keynote speakers and a broad scientific programme will cover four main thematic streams:

• Feeding the Planet
 

Beyond the scientific programme, ECB2026 will feature networking opportunities and highlight events designed to foster exchange across academia, industry, and policy.

The congress will take place at A Room with a ZOO – Antwerp Zoo Convention Centre, a unique congress venue located in the heart of Antwerp. Nestled beside the historic Antwerp Zoo and just steps from the city’s main train station, the venue combines state-of-the-art conference facilities with a touch of nature and heritage.
