Abstract submission deadline approaching for PYFF9 in Valencia

The Conference on Physiology of Yeasts and Filamentous Fungi (PYFF) is a leading international scientific event held every three years, bringing together researchers from academia and industry working on the physiology, metabolism, and genetics of yeasts and filamentous fungi, as well as their biotechnological applications. Since its first edition in 2001 in Denmark, PYFF has provided a key platform for scientific exchange and collaboration in fungal biology.

The scientific programme will address topics including evolution and adaptation, fungal pathogenesis, synthetic and systems biology, fermentation in food and beverage production, fungal cell factories, circular economy applications, and emerging technologies in fungal biotechnology.

The abstract submission deadline is 24 May 2026 (23:59h). Authors are strongly encouraged to submit their work as soon as possible to be considered for an oral presentation, as well as poster presentations.

  • Oral presentations: selected contributions will be included in the scientific programme with time for discussion.
  • Poster presentations: displayed throughout the conference with dedicated interactive sessions.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Fungal physiology and metabolism
  • Evolutionary strategies of fungi
  • Pathogenicity and resistance mechanisms
  • Synthetic biology and emerging technologies
  • Fermentation in food and beverage innovation
  • Fungal cell factories and bioprocessing
  • Fungi in the bioeconomy
  • Artificial intelligence and data science in fungal biotechnology
