17th Asian Congress on Biotechnology

The European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB) congratulates the Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB)  and the Korean Society for Biotechnology and Bioengineering (KSBB)  on the successful organization of the 17th Asian Congress on Biotechnology  (23–27 September 2025). The congress featured an excellent scientific program  and perfect organization , providing an outstanding platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration.

The EFB was represented by its President Francesc Gòdia and Vice President Ivo Frébort, and Diethard Mattanovich, former EFB Vice President and current board member of the EFB Microbial Biotechnology Division, who delivered a plenary lecture “Single carbon biotechnology at the core of a circular bioeconomy“. EFB expresses its gratitude for the invitation and the opportunity to contribute to the congress.

The federation looks forward to continued collaboration with AFOB, its strategic partner, strengthening ties between European and Asian biotechnology communities.
