The mission of the Plant, Agriculture and Food Division of the European Federation of Biotechnology is defined by the following goals:
To build a strong network between universities, research institutions and industry addressing current societal challenges in the field of plant, agricultural and food biotechnology
To promote and support safe and sustainable use of cutting-edge methods such as new genomic techniques
To promote and disseminate high quality research
To organize and support international conferences and events in the field
The Plant, Agriculture and Food Division Board is responsible for planning Division activities, fostering collaborations within the European and international plant agriculture and food research communities, actively supporting the organization of conferences and workshops in its field, and overseeing Division finances. The Board members, along with their key scientific areas, are listed below. The Division Board welcomes the involvement of others, particularly early-career researchers, in the organization of Division activities.
Everyone from academia, research institutes, industry research, industry or regulatory bodies, who is interested in plant biotechnology, especially in relation to agriculture and food, is invited to join us as members of the EFB, which for individuals is free of charge. Currently, the Plant, Agriculture and Food Division is looking for active members who are eager to propose new initiatives such as the organization of workshops or seminars, as well as other related activities.
