PLENARY LECTURE
Prof. P.J. Kiley
University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA
The opening Plenary Lecture will be given by P.J.Kiley, Professor and Chair of the Biomolecular Chemistry department at Wisconsin University. Her principal research interest is the signalling pathways and gene expression programs used by bacteria to respond to changes in the levels of oxygen in the environment

Prof. A. Grossman
University of Stanford, Stanford, USA
The closing Plenary Lecture will be given by A.R. Grossman, Professor at the Department of Biology at Stanford University. His principal research interest is photosynthesis and in particular acclimation processes allowing photosynthetic organisms such as the ones present in hot spring mats to respond to changes in the levels of oxygen or light in the environment.
