How Microbiology was run
To celebrate 75 years of publishing for the community, the Microbiology Society is releasing a series of three papers on the history of its founding journal, Microbiology. In this second paper, Dr Peter Collins looks at how the first editorial team ran the journal, the challenges they faced, and how a generalist journal picked its way through the many subdisciplines that together constitute the science of microbiology.
Discover how the journal has developed over the years and how the Microbiology Society keeps pace with future developments in the numerous specialist areas of research that comprise microbiology.
