EFB New Biotechnology
From January 2022 New Biotechnology (NBT), the official journal of the European Federation of Biotechnology, will become an open access journal. Authors who publish in NBT will be able to make their work immediately, permanently, and freely accessible for anyone to access, read, and build upon.

What does this mean for NBT authors?
Authors will pay an article publishing charge (APC), have a choice of license options, and retain copyright to their published work. The APC will be requested after peer review and acceptance. The APC payment will be required for all accepted articles submitted after 1 October 2021. The APC for NBT will be $2,750 (excluding taxes) with a 30% reduction for authors publishing in a NBT Special Issue in 2022.

What will stay the same?
New Biotechnology will remain the respected journal it has been since 2008 and will continue to publish impactful research on the industrial and commercial aspects of biotechnology with the same Editorial team, submission system and rigorous peer review.
