Founding journal turns 75 and announces Open Access transformation

The Microbiology Society’s first journal, Microbiology, turns 75 this year, publishing advances in fundamental and applied research since 1947. The journal today reflects the diversity and importance of microbiology in addressing current global challenges, such as food security, environmental sustainability, and health.

As the journal hits this significant milestone, we are pleased to announce that Microbiology will be the first of our portfolio to transition from a hybrid model to fully Open Access in 2023, a change which will positively impact our community.
