The scope of the meeting is to discuss different applications, ranging from the engineering of organisms, proteins, and the engineering of functionalized bio-based and bio-inspired materials. While the specific aspects and scientific questions in these fields are different, the larger umbrella of methods used in these fields is similar.

VENUE AND REGISTRATION
The meeting will be held in the Green Flag accredited Newcastle University Campus in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Registration includes the 2.5 days of the conference, with materials, refreshments, lunches, welcome reception and conference dinner at BALTIC on Thursday 1st August. An optional tour of the Wylam Brewery is also available for Wednesday 31st July.
Onsite childcare will be available for dependent children of attendees between 0 - 12 years of age.
